M&E Shift Engineer – Surrey – £50,000 (Rising to £56,000)

📍 Location: Surrey

💷 Salary: £50,000 (increasing to £56,000 upon successful completion of probation)

🕒 Hours: Continental Shift Pattern – 12-hour shifts

Due to continued expansion at a key site in Surrey, we’re recruiting M&E Shift Engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, or Air Conditioning backgrounds) to join a leading facilities management provider.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks

- Respond to emergency callouts and fault situations

- Complete logbooks, RAMS, and relevant documentation

- Attend client meetings and provide technical support

- Conduct emergency lighting testing

- Perform electrical works including lighting, wiring, testing, alarm systems, and BMS

- Maintain and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)

- Work on air conditioning systems including DX, chilled water, and adiabatic AHUs

- Maintain generators, controls, and UPS systems

- Work on AC/DC systems including single and three-phase motors

- Support HV/LV systems maintenance

- Carry out basic building fabric tasks (e.g., toilets, drainage, tiling, sinks)

Requirements:

- Trade qualified with ideally 3+ years’ experience in building services

- City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical (or equivalent)

- Strong understanding of building services systems (AHU, FCU, UPS, generators, LV systems)

- Proven fault-finding ability across mechanical and/or electrical systems

- Excellent communication skills with strong client-facing experience
