Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs - Nailsea - BS48

Would you like a role supporting the mental health of young people? A great platform for future psychologists, therapists or counsellors to gain relevant experience.

* £90 - £125 per day, depending on experience

* Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4.00pm

* Term time only

* Ideal for Psychology/Counselling Graduates

A school that specialises in accommodating children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs are looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with behavioural and mental health issues.

* Working with SEN students aged 8 to 18 to support their wellbeing and personal development.

* Engage with students and manage behaviour 1:1 or in small groups

* Work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school

* Build frontline, practical experience with young people with significant SEMH needs

The right candidate

* Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as a Teaching Assistant for children with mental health issues

* Enthusiastic and passionate about making a different in the lives of children with SEMH

* Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
