Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is a hands-on maintenance role where you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery.
Location: Wellingborough
Shift: Monday - Friday rotating shifts: 06:00 - 14:00 / 08:00 - 16:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 (no nights)
Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Duties:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
* Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
* Work across production machinery including mills, bailers, mixers, hoppers, and robots
* Carry out root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability improvements
* Use workshop equipment including drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment
* Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
The ideal candidate must:
* Be apprentice trained with an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification
* Hold a current 18th Edition qualification
* Have proven multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
* Have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
* Have an electrical bias, although the role is approximately 50/50 electrical and mechanical
* Be confident using hand tools and workshop equipment
* Have a good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment
* Be comfortable working directly on production machinery and responding to breakdowns
Desirable:
* Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or process manufacturing
* PLC fault-finding experience (programming is not required)
* Experience with motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors, and pneumatics
* Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
