The Role

I am seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Music Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. This is a permanent position with an ASAP February start, offering an excellent opportunity for an ECT to begin or continue their teaching career in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of the subject.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Music across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum

Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Contribute to extracurricular music activities (choirs, ensembles, performances)

Work collaboratively within the Music department and wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

A qualified teacher (or trainee teacher) with QTS or pending QTS

An ECT or newly qualified teacher of Music

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Music education

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A commitment to professional development and reflective practice

Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
