Noise Monitoring Technician - Nottingham - £24,000 to £30,000 + Benefits + Full Training

A leading UK-based Environmental and Acoustics Consultancy is seeking a Noise Monitoring Technician to join their growing team in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity for someone with a practical mindset and technical interest to support site-based noise and vibration monitoring for major planning, infrastructure, and construction projects.

Essential Criteria:

*

A technical qualification or background in Acoustics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

*

Practical experience with environmental monitoring equipment (e.g., noise or vibration meters) or strong interest in field-based work.

*

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

*

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Desirable Criteria:

*

Experience in environmental consultancy or construction site monitoring.

*

Familiarity with BS4142, BS5228 or other UK noise/vibration guidance.

*

Ability to calibrate, install, and maintain environmental monitoring systems.

*

Good IT and reporting skills.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and collecting data from noise and vibration monitoring equipment on a range of sites. You'll work closely with consultants and project managers, supporting assessments that feed into planning applications and compliance reports.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Setting up and managing unattended or attended noise/vibration monitoring equipment.

*

Carrying out site visits and ensuring accurate data collection.

*

Logging, downloading, and reviewing measurement data.

*

Maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with monitoring protocols.

*

Supporting technical reporting and liaising with consultants and clients.

This is a full-time, field-based role with office support in Nottingham. The position offers a competitive salary (£24,000-£30,000), full training, company vehicle or mileage allowance, pension, and opportunities to develop into consultancy or technical roles over time.
