Nursery Lunch Time Helper
Location: Oban's 1st Steps Day Nursery, Oban, Scotland
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Monday to Friday 10:30am - 2:30pm

The Role
We are looking for a caring and reliable Nursery Lunch Time Helper to support our nursery team during busy lunch and afternoon periods. This role involves assisting children during meal times, helping maintain a calm and safe environment, and supporting children with afternoon rest and nap routines.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children during lunch and snack times
* Encourage positive eating habits and good table manners
* Assist younger children with feeding where required
* Prepare and tidy dining and activity areas before and after meals
* Help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
* Support children with afternoon sleep and rest routines
* Create a calm, comforting environment during nap times
* Supervise children to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times
* Work closely with nursery practitioners and room staff
* Follow nursery safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures

* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Calm and positive attitude
* Ability to follow instructions and nursery procedures
Essential Requirements
* Genuine interest in childcare and supporting children's wellbeing
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices
Desirable
* Previous experience working with children or within a nursery setting
* Food hygiene or childcare-related training
* Paediatric First Aid awareness
