Operations Manager

Are you an experienced Operations Manager looking to take ownership of a busy 3PL site and lead a high-performing team? Our client, a well-established logistics business, is looking for a strong people leader to drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer service, and support ongoing growth.
The role
* Lead, motivate and develop a team of supervisors and operatives (circa 25 staff).
* Oversee all warehouse operational functions, ensuring a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.
* Deliver agreed customer service levels while managing costs and resources effectively.
* Maintain and improve Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and site procedures.
* Manage stock control, site KPIs, reporting and operational documentation.
* Support customer relationships, dealing with service queries and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Deputise for the General Manager and support with budgeting, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Drive performance, manage underperformance, support training needs and lead by example.
Experience
* Experience supervising or managing teams within a warehouse or 3PL environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive, performance-driven culture.
* Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards (NEBOSH / IOSH desirable).
* Experience using WMS and confident IT skills.
* An understanding of budgets, cost control and P&L basics.
* The drive to develop professionally - CPC, Known Consignor & Responsible Officer training can be provided.
