A leading UK distribution business is seeking an Operations Manager to take full responsibility for a busy multi-functional operation in Harlow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a strong reputation, ambitious growth plans and a people-first culture.
The Role
Reporting into senior operational leadership, you will have overall accountability for warehouse and transport operations, site facilities, budgets and operational performance.
Leading a team of operational managers and frontline colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering high levels of service, driving efficiencies, maintaining compliance and developing a high-performing culture across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Full leadership of warehouse and transport operations
* Ownership of operational budgets and cost control
* Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
* Leading, developing and coaching management teams
* Ensuring customer service and operational KPIs are achieved
* Managing resource planning across the operation
* Maintaining compliance across Health & Safety, transport and site facilities
* Supporting business growth through operational excellence and strong stakeholder engagement
* Producing operational reports and performance analysis for senior management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience in an Operations Manager position within logistics, distribution, warehousing or FMCG environments
* Strong warehouse and transport management experience
* Experience managing large operational teams through direct reports
* Commercial awareness with budget and P&L responsibility
* A track record of improving operational performance and driving continuous improvement
* Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance requirements
* The ability to influence, motivate and develop teams at all levels
* Experience within a high-volume, fast-moving distribution environment would be highly advantageous.
