Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs)

Location: Doncaster

Pay: £90 - £120 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a patient and intuitive practitioner dedicated to championing the rights of learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties? A forward-thinking primary provision in South Yorkshire is looking for a specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team on an immediate basis.

Why Make a Move?

*

A Holistic Approach: This isn't just about classroom support; it's about attending to the whole child. You will support with personal care, postural management, and follow individual care plans to ensure pupils' dignity and comfort throughout the school day.

*

Consistent Routine: Enjoy the reliability of a full-time temporary contract (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) within a single, supportive environment where you can build deep connections.

*

Sharpen Your Toolkit: We provide free access to CPD that matters in this field, including courses on Makaton/PECS, Moving and Handling, Intensive Interaction, and supporting learners with ASD and complex healthcare needs.

*

Refer & Reward: Know someone looking for similar work? Receive a £75 Love2Shop voucher when you refer a friend.

Who We're Looking For:

*

Specialist Experience: You must have a background in care or education, specifically working with individuals with PMLD, complex physical disabilities, or profound autism. Experience with tube feeding, hoisting, or epilepsy management is highly valued.

*

Understanding of Sensory Needs: You should be confident in using a range of communication methods (e.g., Objects of Reference, symbols, eye-gaze) and sensory strategies to engage learners.

*

Calm & Nurturing Nature: We need someone with a gentle resilience-an individual who celebrates the smallest victories and remains calm and attentive in a dynamic environment.

*

Qualifications Count: A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous, but your hands-on experience and genuine empathy are what truly set you apart.

*

Safeguarding First: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to apply for one immediately).

If you believe that every child deserves a champion and you have the specialist skills to support PMLD learners, we want to hear from you.
