Job Title: Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Benefits
A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its established team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take a key technical and strategic role, leading a growing air quality team and delivering high-value impact assessments, modelling projects, and regulatory compliance work across multiple sectors.
As a Principal Air Quality Consultant, you will lead on complex technical delivery, manage major client relationships, and support business development across the North West. You will also provide mentorship to junior staff, ensuring the continued growth and success of the Manchester office.

Duties for the role of Principal Air Quality Consultant include:
*
Leading the delivery of air quality consultancy projects for major developments
*
Managing dispersion modelling, emissions assessments, and regulatory submissions
*
Producing and reviewing Environmental Statement chapters and technical reports
*
Developing client relationships and contributing to business growth
*
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants
*
Liaising with developers, planners, and local authorities to ensure project success
Skills and experience required for the role of Principal Air Quality Consultant:
*
6+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulatory practice
*
Strong understanding of ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance
*
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
*
Chartered status (CEnv/IAQM) desirable
*
Proven experience in client management and project leadership
*
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
*
Full UK driving licence
