Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to join my client, a fresh-faced, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of building an industry-leading team of design professionals from the ground up, in the Water and wider Civil Engineering sectors. They are actively seeking a capable, enthusiastic Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of drainage, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure design, who is willing and able to manage and successfully deliver an array of challenging projects. You will have a hand in establishing and leading a driven team of design engineers, based in the sprawling, diverse region of Greater London.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

* Overseeing and delivering an array of exciting projects and developments

* Leading a fresh-faced team of Civil Engineering design professionals, mentoring their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

* Overseeing all aspects of design projects, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementation

* Managing infrastructure and non-infrastructure design projects

* Establishing and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors

* Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents such as reports, drawings, calculations, and more

* Enforcing company policies and procedures, ensuring colleagues adhere to best practice

* Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times

* Contributing to the company's Business Development (BD) strategies, acting as a trusted representative

Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

* A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering, etc.)

* Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)

* Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy setting

* Considerable experience of working with water-based, non-infrastructure projects (such as reservoirs, pumping stations, treatment plants, etc.)

* Experience of producing detailed drainage and civil engineering design

* Proficiencies with software systems including Revit, AutoCAD, and more

* Demonstrable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports for submission

* Prior experience of managing relevant projects and people

* Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations

* Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Hold a full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

* A UK Higher Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject

* Experience of preparing Flood Risk Assessments and producing Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS)

* Experience of working in a public-facing role
