Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Sheffield

£45,000 - £50,000

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Sheffield.

This role would suit an experienced geotechnical engineer looking to take on a technical leadership position within a close-knit team. You will play a key role in delivering geotechnical projects while providing technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.

The workload is varied and includes geotechnical design, ground investigations, geotechnical risk assessments and technical reporting across a range of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects.

The successful Principal Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for:

* Leading the technical delivery of geotechnical projects.

* Undertaking geotechnical design, including foundation and slope stability assessments.

* Planning and supervising ground investigations.

* Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.

* Carrying out geotechnical risk assessments.

* Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers.

* Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.

* Supporting project delivery to programme and budget.

Requirements:

* Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.

* A minimum of 8 years' consultancy experience.

* Strong geotechnical design experience.

* Experience planning and interpreting ground investigations.

* Excellent report writing and communication skills.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
