The Role

As a Principal Planner, you'll take a leading role in a variety of planning projects, reporting directly to Directors while also operating independently. You'll be instrumental in securing planning permissions and promoting strategic sites, managing relationships with clients and stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Leading and managing planning applications and appeals of varying complexity

* Representing clients at planning committees and hearings

* Promoting major development schemes through the local plan process

* Co-ordinating project teams and managing client relationships

* Preparing site appraisals, planning strategies, and fee proposals

* Supporting the professional development of junior planners

* Contributing to business development through strong professional networks

What We're Looking For:

* Chartered RTPI membership (or working towards)

* post-degree experience, preferably in consultancy, at Senior level or above

* In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework

* Strong communication, project management, and negotiation skills

* A proactive, detail-oriented approach with commercial awareness

* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team

* A full UK driving licence is preferred
