A leading, globally recognised property consultancy is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Principal Town Planner to join their successful and expanding planning team in Reading. This is a unique opportunity to take on a key role within a multidisciplinary environment, working on a wide range of high-profile projects across the South East and beyond.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support a dynamic planning team, contributing to the delivery of planning advice for major residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You'll be involved in providing strategic planning guidance, managing client relationships, and leading on complex planning applications and appeals.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects across various sectors
*
Deliver high-quality written reports and planning advice
*
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive projects forward
*
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners within the team
*
Represent clients at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations
About You
*
MRTPI qualified with significant post-qualification experience
*
Strong understanding of the UK planning system, particularly in the South East
*
Proven experience in delivering major planning applications and development projects
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
*
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with commercial awareness
