This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact on young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

Why Academics?

We're a local education agency with a personal, relationship-driven approach. By visiting our schools and candidates in person, we ensure the right match between support staff and school environments.

* Assist in implementing behaviour strategies and personalised support plans

* Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and a positive sense of wellbeing

* Help pupils develop confidence, self-esteem, and coping strategies

* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral teams

* Create a calm, safe, and structured environment that supports learning and emotional growth

* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours

What we're looking for:

* Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (highly desirable)

* A calm, patient, and nurturing approach at all times

* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* A proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude

* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
