The Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Hemel Hempstead, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to engage positively with learning and build confidence in a structured environment.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Hemel Hempstead, you will:
* Provide tailored classroom support to students with SEMH needs and additional behavioural challenges
* Support students with SEMH needs, ASD, ADHD, and associated learning or behavioural difficulties

* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and wider school staff
* Support the implementation of behaviour strategies and monitor student progress
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or within an SEMH setting
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or additional behavioural needs
* Strong behaviour management and classroom support skills
* A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting students
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
