Academics is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school supporting young people aged 16-19 with complex needs, starting February 2026. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work in a setting focused on preparation for adulthood, independence, and life skills.

This SEN school provides a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for students with a range of complex needs, including ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and associated communication and behavioural needs. The school places strong emphasis on personalised support, wellbeing, and positive outcomes beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students aged 16-19 with complex SEN

*

Support learning programmes focused on functional skills, independence, communication, and emotional regulation

*

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver consistent, individualised support plans

*

Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence using calm, trauma-informed approaches

*

Support students with personal care and daily living skills where required
