Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Hull

Position: SEN Teacher (KS3 & KS4)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN teacher who believes every young person deserves an education that meets their individual needs?

A welcoming alternative provision in Hull is seeking a SEN Teacher to join their supportive team from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as other learning challenges, helping them re-engage with learning and build brighter futures.

Your Role as an SEN Teacher:

* Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the individual learning needs of students with SEMH and additional needs

* Differentiate planning and teaching approaches to ensure accessibility for all learners

* Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage confidence, independence, and resilience

* Work closely with support staff, the SENCo, and external professionals to implement personalised education plans

* Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive environment where students feel safe and valued

* Monitor and assess progress, adapting strategies to support ongoing development

What We're Looking For:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) with experience in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings

* A creative and flexible approach to teaching, with strong behaviour management skills

* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong rapport with students

* A commitment to inclusive practice and helping young people overcome barriers to learning

* Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues and support staff

What's on Offer:

* Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications

* Full support from a dedicated education consultant

* Access to a wide range of CPD-accredited training courses, including SEN and SEMH-specific modules

* Opportunities for long-term or permanent employment within a growing provision

* Referral bonuses of up to £125 for recommending a friend or colleague

This is more than just a teaching role-it's an opportunity to inspire and guide young people who need an understanding, adaptable, and encouraging educator to help them succeed.

If you're passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.
