SEN Teacher - Yeovil (Somerset)

Are you a creative, committed teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with autism and complex needs?

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join the dedicated team at a residential college in Somerset, delivering a high-quality, life-enhancing education that supports young people to achieve their personal best.

Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 per annum (Dependent on experience and qualifications)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Start Date: 01 September 2025

About the role

* Designing and delivering ambitious, differentiated curriculum plans to learners aged 16-25 with a diagnosis of autism or related difficulties

* Creating high-quality, engaging lesson plans that promote independence, confidence, and learning

* Acting as a personal tutor to a small group of students, guiding them towards EHCP outcomes and life skills

* Working closely with a skilled team of educators, therapists, and care staff to deliver holistic support

* Taking part in a rich, diverse college experience that includes classroom learning, vocational training, and outdoor activities, preparing learners for adulthood by building independence, resilience, and practical life skills.

About You

We're looking for a SEN Teacher who is:

* Organised, proactive, and able to create structured, supportive learning environments

* Energetic, creative, and adaptable in their teaching methods

* Passionate about SEN education and eager to develop expertise in autism

* A team player who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment

* Comfortable managing complex behaviours and building positive relationships with young people

* Experienced in post-16 education or interested in expanding into this specialist area

We welcome applications from teachers with experience in PSHE, life skills, or vocational education, but we also encourage candidates with a strong SEN background and the right approach to apply.
