SEN Teacher (SEMH) High Wycombe
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in High Wycombe, supporting students aged 11-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require a tailored, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH
* Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
* Develop strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural development
* Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
* Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
* Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or in a specialist setting
* Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
* A compassionate and patient approach to teaching
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
