SEN Teacher - Autism Provision | Basildon

Contract: Permanent (Temp-to-Perm Considered)

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance 1
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a well-established Local Authority-run Autism Support Provision in Basildon from September 2026.
This specialist provision supports a small group of 8 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). All pupils are verbal and benefit from a structured, nurturing environment that promotes independence, communication and academic progress.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning and delivering a tailored curriculum, working within an established autism framework and supported by a dedicated team of professionals committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
The Role
As the SEN Teacher, you will:
* Lead teaching and learning within a specialist autism provision
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual needs
* Use autism-specific strategies to support learning, communication and social development
* Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
* Work collaboratively with support staff, families and external agencies
* Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Has proven experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly Autism
* Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies
* Has a strong understanding of autism-friendly teaching approaches
* Is confident leading a small specialist class and managing support staff
* Is passionate about improving outcomes for children with additional needs
