The Role

As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will:

* Plan and deliver engaging, creative and highly differentiated lessons that meet each pupil's individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.

* Lead, support and work collaboratively with a team of SEND Teaching Assistants to provide consistently high-quality classroom provision.

* Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes communication, functional literacy and numeracy, life skills and independence.

* Use a range of communication approaches, including AAC, Makaton, PECS and sensory strategies where appropriate.

* Work closely with therapists, families and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to each pupil's education.

* Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

* Promote positive behaviour through proactive, relationship-based approaches.

* Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, health and wellbeing are maintained at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with a passion for SEND.

* Has experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with complex learning needs, SLD, PMLD and/or Autism.

* Has either Primary or Secondary teaching experience.

* Can deliver engaging, personalised learning that celebrates every small step of progress.

* Has excellent communication and teamwork skills and enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

* Maintains high expectations and believes every child can succeed with the right support.

* Demonstrates resilience, patience, empathy and a positive attitude.

* Is committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

* Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

What the School Offers

The successful candidate will benefit from:

* A welcoming, experienced and highly supportive leadership team.

* Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development, including specialist SEND training.

* Opportunities for career progression and leadership development.

* A collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, working alongside therapists and specialist practitioners.

* Well-resourced classrooms and excellent facilities.

* A positive, nurturing school community where staff wellbeing is valued.

* The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of children and young people with complex needs.

If you are a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to inspire, support and empower pupils with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
