SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Newbury
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 - £105 per day

A welcoming and supportive school in Newbury is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, compassionate and committed to making a positive difference to pupils with additional needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils both within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You will work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and engage positively with their education.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
* Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties and other SEN needs
* Adapting activities and learning materials to suit individual requirements
* Encouraging positive behaviour, communication and social development
* Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
* Supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and remain engaged in learning
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
* Maintaining a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment
The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, resilient and able to build strong relationships with children. Previous experience working with SEN, education, childcare, youth work or care would be highly beneficial, although applications from graduates and individuals looking to develop a career in education are also welcomed.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role would be particularly well suited to someone considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy or other child-focused professions.
You will join a supportive team where the SEN Teaching Assistant will receive guidance and gain valuable hands-on experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
