SEN Teaching Assistant (KS3 & KS4)

A welcoming and inclusive alternative provision in Hull is looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require additional support with their learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of SEN, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

* Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and the pastoral team to deliver personalised support plans

* Help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive social skills

* Assist with behaviour regulation and create a calm, nurturing classroom environment

* Support with adapted learning resources and ensure students can fully access the curriculum

* Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff to help shape ongoing support strategies

What We're Looking For

* Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH needs (in schools, youth work, or similar settings)

* Patience, empathy, and excellent relationship-building skills

* An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies

* A flexible, calm, and proactive approach to challenges

* A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting the wellbeing of young people
