SEN Teaching Assistant - Chesterfield
Academics are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. This is a temporary, full-time position with an immediate start.

Contract: Full-time, temporary (ongoing)
School: Inclusive mainstream primary school in Chesterfield
Pay: £88.94 - £95 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available, inclusive of holiday pay)
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream classroom setting, supporting children with a range of additional needs. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 support, and help pupils access their learning in a positive and inclusive environment. The school in Chesterfield is looking for someone who is proactive, patient, and passionate about making a difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SEN in both 1:1 and group situations.
* Work alongside the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
* Provide specialist support for children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties.
* Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
* Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements
✔ Previous experience of working with children with SEN (essential).
✔ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
✔ Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
✔ A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
