SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Chessington, London

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

A supportive and forward-thinking school in Chessington is looking for a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about helping pupils with Special Educational Needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teaching staff to provide personalised support that enables each child to succeed.

Main Duties:

* Offer individual and small-group assistance to pupils with a range of SEN needs, such as ASD, dyslexia, and communication difficulties.

* Contribute to the delivery of adapted learning activities to meet diverse needs.

* Support children with emotional regulation, social interaction, and personal care when required.

* Assist with literacy, numeracy, and classroom engagement tasks.

* Track pupil progress and share observations with teachers and families.

* Help maintain an inclusive, nurturing, and encouraging learning environment.

Person Specification:

* Previous experience supporting children with SEN is beneficial.

* A genuine desire to help young learners achieve their potential.

* Patience, compassion, and a proactive approach.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* TA qualifications (Level 2/3) are advantageous but not essential.

* Good understanding of safeguarding practices.
