SEN Teaching Assistant - Rotherham
Academics are currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work across supportive and well-resourced schools in Rotherham on a temporary, ongoing basis.
We are looking for strong candidates with proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs within a school setting.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: £88.94 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Rotherham, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
You may work on a 1:1 basis or support small groups, helping pupils access learning, manage behaviour and develop key social skills.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Rotherham requires candidates who are confident, proactive and experienced in supporting SEN within classroom environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Adapt classroom activities to meet individual needs
* Implement EHCP targets and behaviour strategies
* Support emotional regulation and social development
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCOs
* Maintain safeguarding and school policies
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience supporting SEN pupils in schools (essential)
* Good understanding of Autism, SEMH, ADHD or similar needs
* Patient, resilient and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage behaviour confidently
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
