Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new long-term opportunity within a supportive primary school?
A welcoming primary school in Romford is looking for a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start on a long-term basis .
This is a varied SEN support role working across the school. You will not be allocated exclusively to one child or year group ; instead, you will work flexibly with pupils who require additional support across different areas of need.
The Role
* Providing targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
* Supporting children across different year groups and classes
* Working with pupils who have ASD and behavioural needs
* Helping pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour
* Supporting learning, communication, social development and independence
* Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff
* Adapting your approach according to individual pupils and their needs
* Contributing to a positive, inclusive and nurturing school environment
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience working within a primary school SEN setting
* Has strong, practical experience supporting children with ASD
* Has experience managing and responding to challenging behaviour
* Is confident working with a range of ages and needs
* Can build positive relationships with children who may present with complex needs
* Is calm, patient, resilient and consistent in their approach
* Can work effectively as part of a wider school team
* Is proactive and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day
