SEND Tutors Required (Alternative Provision - Wokingham Area)

We are currently looking to recruit qualified teachers and experienced tutors to deliver individual and small group tuition to pupils across Wokingham and nearby areas.

This provision supports students who are not currently attending mainstream school or who require additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs. Tuition may be delivered face-to-face, online, or through a blended approach, depending on each placement.

There are ongoing opportunities available, with a steady stream of referrals from local schools and authorities.

⚠️ You must have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.

This role offers a flexible and rewarding alternative to classroom teaching, allowing you to work more closely with individual learners.

Role Overview

* Provide tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) in line with your experience

* Support learners from KS1 through to KS5

* Work with pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs

* Sessions may take place in homes, schools, community venues, or online

* Flexible working arrangements, from part-time to near full-time

* Many placements offer up to 5 days per week (approx. 3 hours per day), often lasting until the end of the academic year

Student Profile

Students may present with:

* SEMH needs, anxiety, or disengagement from school

* Autism (ASC), ADHD

* MLD, SLD, or PMLD

A calm, consistent and adaptable approach is key.

Requirements

* QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience

* Experience working with SEND or alternative provision learners

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

* Two professional references

* Strong safeguarding understanding

* Ability to travel locally within Wokingham
