Senior Acoustic Consultant - London

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: London

We're hiring on behalf of an established multi-disciplinary building engineering consultancy with a growing Acoustics team delivering high-quality noise, vibration and acoustic design support across major UK developments and complex refurbishment schemes.

We're looking for a Senior Acoustic Consultant to take ownership of project delivery, support client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our acoustic engineering capability in London.

The role

You'll lead and deliver acoustic consultancy projects across a varied portfolio, including:

*

Architectural / building acoustics input from concept design through to technical delivery

*

Environmental noise and vibration assessments to support planning applications and scheme design

*

Building services (M&E) acoustics, including plant noise assessment and mitigation recommendations

*

Site-based noise monitoring (attended/unattended) and data interpretation

*

Producing clear, high-quality reports and presenting findings to clients and design teams

*

Coordinating with internal disciplines (MEP, sustainability, structures) and external stakeholders

You'll also support junior team members through informal mentoring and technical guidance.

About you

We're looking for someone with:

*

Proven experience in an acoustic consultancy environment (Senior level)

*

Strong technical reporting skills and a confident, solutions-led approach

*

Working knowledge of key standards and guidance (e.g. BS 4142, BS 8233, BB93, ProPG)

*

Experience using acoustic modelling tools such as CadnaA and/or SoundPLAN

*

Practical monitoring experience and confidence using sound level meters and associated equipment

*

Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Nice to have

*

IOA membership and working towards Chartered status

*

Experience supporting EIA / Environmental Statement projects

*

Construction noise & vibration assessment / monitoring (and Section 61 experience)

*

A proactive interest in supporting business development and client account growth
