Senior Acoustic Consultant - London
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: London
We are recruiting for a well-established, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy that is expanding its London-based Acoustics team. The team provides specialist noise, vibration, and acoustic design advice across a broad range of major UK developments and technically complex refurbishment projects.
They are seeking an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant to lead project delivery, manage client interactions, and play an active role in developing the consultancy's acoustic capability in London.
The role
This position involves the technical leadership and delivery of acoustic consultancy services across diverse projects, including:

Providing building and architectural acoustics input from early design stages through to detailed technical delivery
*
Undertaking environmental noise and vibration assessments to support planning and scheme development
*
Delivering M&E acoustics services, including plant noise assessments and mitigation strategies
*
Carrying out attended and unattended noise monitoring and interpreting survey data
*
Preparing clear, well-structured technical reports and presenting outcomes to clients and design teams
*
Working closely with internal disciplines (MEP, sustainability, structures) and coordinating with external project stakeholders
You will also contribute to the development of junior staff through mentoring and day-to-day technical support.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
*
Demonstrable experience in an acoustic consultancy role at Senior level
*
A strong technical skillset with a pragmatic, solution-focused mindset
*
Sound knowledge of relevant standards and guidance (including BS 4142, BS 8233, BB93 and ProPG)
*
Experience using acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA and/or SoundPLAN
*
Practical experience undertaking noise monitoring using sound level meters and associated equipment
*
The ability to manage multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines
Desirable experience
*
IOA membership and progress towards Chartered status
*
Involvement in EIA or Environmental Statement work
*
Experience with construction noise and vibration assessments, including Section 61
*
An interest in supporting business development and strengthening client relationships
