Senior Flood Risk Consultant

Manchester

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join a leading environmental consultancy in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional to work on a wide range of residential, commercial, infrastructure and mixed-use developments across the UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering flood risk and drainage projects, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside planning, environmental and engineering specialists.

The successful Senior Flood Risk Consultant will be responsible for:

* Producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) for a variety of developments.

* Preparing Drainage Strategy Reports and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) designs.

* Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments.

* Liaising with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities, water companies and other key stakeholders.

* Providing technical advice to clients throughout the planning and design process.

* Managing multiple projects to programme and budget.

* Mentoring and supporting junior consultants.

* Assisting with business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements:

* Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.

* Experience delivering Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies within a consultancy environment.

* Strong knowledge of UK flood risk policy and planning guidance.

* Experience using industry software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow.

* Excellent report writing and communication skills.

* Ability to manage projects and build strong client relationships.

* Full UK driving licence.
