Senior Geotechnical Engineer | Manchester | £40,000 - £45,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground engineering consultancy in Manchester. This role is ideal for an experienced geotechnical professional looking to take the next step in their career, working on a wide range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential developments across the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technically robust geotechnical solutions while supporting junior engineers and contributing to project management. You will be involved in both office-based technical work and site-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret site investigation data including boreholes, CPTs and trial pits

*

Prepare and review geotechnical and geotechnical interpretative reports (GIR)

*

Undertake geotechnical design and analysis including foundations, slopes, and earthworks

*

Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams

*

Oversee ground investigations and ensure quality of site data

*

Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development

*

Assist with project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget

Requirements

*

Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline

*

Approximately 5+ years' experience within geotechnical engineering

*

Strong experience interpreting ground investigation data

*

Knowledge of geotechnical design principles and reporting

*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*

Working towards or already achieved Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society) is advantageous

*

Full UK driving licence
