Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

An established engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team. This role would suit an experienced geotechnical engineer with 5+ years' experience who is working towards or close to achieving Chartered status.

The position offers the opportunity to work across a varied range of geotechnical projects, taking responsibility for technical delivery while developing your project management and client-facing experience.

The Role

* Deliver geotechnical projects from ground investigation through to design and construction.

* Plan and manage ground investigations, including reviewing factual information and producing interpretative reports.

* Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for a range of development and infrastructure projects.

* Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.

* Carry out geotechnical assessments including slope stability, retaining structures, foundations and earthworks.

* Work closely with structural, civil and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.

* Liaise with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

* Assist with project management, including programmes, budgets and resources.

* Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.

* Contribute to business development and the development of client relationships.

About You

* 5+ years' experience in geotechnical engineering.

* Working towards or close to achieving Chartered Engineer status.

* Strong experience in UK ground conditions and geotechnical design.

* Experience across ground investigation and interpretative reporting.

* Good knowledge of relevant UK standards and design guidance.

* Strong technical report writing and communication skills.

* Commercially aware with the ability to work directly with clients.

* Experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

* Full UK driving licence desirable.
