Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a respected independent planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their Central London team.

This consultancy has built a strong reputation for delivering clear, commercially focused planning advice across a broad range of development projects. Their work spans residential, mixed-use, commercial, and urban regeneration schemes, often within complex planning environments across London and the South East. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated planner looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and highly regarded planning practice.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects and providing strategic planning advice to a diverse client base. You will work closely with senior members of the team on a range of projects while also taking responsibility for your own caseload, guiding schemes through the planning process from initial appraisal through to determination.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and managing a variety of planning applications and appeals

Undertaking site assessments and planning policy research

Producing high-quality Planning Statements and supporting documentation

Engaging with clients to provide clear and commercially focused planning advice

Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key project stakeholders

Working alongside architects, surveyors, and other specialist consultants

Supporting junior team members where required

Candidate Requirements

Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership

Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment

Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, particularly within London

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively within a team
