Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure Project (Sizewell C) Location: Suffolk (Full-time, site-based) Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 Package Includes: Accommodation Allowance · Bonus · Car Allowance · Pension · Private Healthcare · 26 Days Holiday · Additional Benefits Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team of one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in managing commercial and contractual aspects of a major civil engineering package on-site at Sizewell C. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in large-scale infrastructure, and a proactive, hands-on approach. Key Responsibilities - Lead all commercial activities on-site, including cost planning, contract administration, and change management - Prepare and manage cost estimates, forecasts, and financial reports throughout the project lifecycle - Oversee subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations, and contract negotiations - Ensure timely and accurate preparation of payment applications and final accounts - Advise project teams on contract terms, obligations, and commercial strategy - Prepare claim submissions and support dispute resolution as required - Supervise measurement and pricing activities from design drawings and technical documents - Support and develop junior QS staff within the commercial team - Liaise regularly with stakeholders and client-side teams to maintain strong working relationships - Attend project meetings and site inspections - Prepare internal cost reports, including forecasts of income, liabilities, and cash flow for senior leadership Requirements - Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related discipline - Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior commercial role, preferably on large infrastructure or civil projects - Excellent knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contracts - Able to work independently and lead a team confidently - Membership of RICS (or working toward it) is desirable - Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills - Willingness to be based on-site full time (accommodation allowance provided if needed)
