The Role

As a Senior Technician, you will be involved with the provision of advice and formal responses on planning, licensing and event enquiries and applications from across the city.

* Partnering with a diverse range of organisations and stakeholders to bring world-class events to life, ensuring they are safe, enjoyable, and accessible for all

* Safeguarding the City's Soundscape by advising commercial operators on noise levels for outdoor spaces, events and ensure compliance with legislation-protecting public health and enhancing quality of life.

* You will undertake acoustic monitoring in conjunction with consultants assigned to maintain prescribed sound levels in external venues and at music festivals, thereby protecting public health and the prevention of nuisance.

Your role will be varied and fulfilling. There will be the opportunity for you to work alongside other teams within the Division to assist with project work, out of hours work as and when required and participate on the Emergency Standby Rota.

With the hybrid and flexible working model offered here at Newcastle City Council you will benefit from the best of both worlds.

Access to modern and well-resourced office and collaborative spaces, and first class provision of IT, software, and other equipment to enable effective homeworking, along with their commitment to provide structured, face to face mentoring, shadowing, and learning opportunities.
