Location: Soho, London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading employee-owned planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their dynamic team in Central London.

Our client is a highly respected, independent consultancy known for their expertise in delivering high-profile, complex developments across London and beyond. With a collaborative culture and a strong commitment to professional development, they provide an outstanding working environment in the heart of Soho.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Planner with at least 3 years of relevant experience to take on a varied and engaging role. You will be working closely with senior colleagues and clients on large-scale, residential-led and mixed-use developments-playing a central role in project delivery, client management, and team leadership.

As a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of key elements of projects, provide strategic planning advice, manage external consultant teams, and represent clients at public meetings and consultations. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the consultancy's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and support delivery of complex planning projects

* Prepare and submit high-quality planning applications and appeal documentation

* Draft clear, concise, and commercially minded planning advice and reports

* Build and maintain strong client relationships

* Represent the consultancy and clients at meetings and public events

* Lead on the coordination of external consultant teams

* Contribute to business development, fee proposals, and tenders

* Mentor and support junior team members

Requirements

* RTPI accredited degree and full MRTPI membership

* Minimum of 3 years' planning experience, ideally in consultancy or private sector

* Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale planning projects

* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and London-specific planning policy

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Commercial awareness and sound professional judgement

* Positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to take on responsibility
