Salary:                  £50,000 - £55,000

Hours:                   M-F 8am- 5.30pm (45hrs)

About the Service Manager Role

Are you an experienced Service Manager looking for a new challenge? Due to internal progression, our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Service Manager to lead their modern Service workshop and MOT function in Worcester.

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for proactively leading the Service department’s operations to ensure maximum efficiency and deliver exceptional service to all customers. You will monitor and control costs in line with the business plan while identifying opportunities for growth and increased revenue. Additionally, you will drive business performance and customer satisfaction while leading, motivating, and managing the Service team.

Key Responsibilities of the Service Manager

- Manage a team of circa 12 staff to include Commercial Vehicle Technicians, Mechanics, and Service Administrators

- Plan, forecast, and achieve Service targets

- Maximise workshop utilisation and efficiency

- Identify and implement new revenue streams

- Produce and analyse financial and statistical reports

- Develop business plans and department priorities

- Monitor and control departmental costs while maintaining service quality

- Identify growth opportunities for the Service department

- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships

- Ensure accurate collection and recording of customer data, warranty work, and other key information

- Maintain accurate document control systems

- Provide customer quotations based on schedules, time, and pricing policies

- Mentor, coach, and develop the Service team

- Work collaboratively with other managers to enhance overall business performance

- Ensure a safe working environment at all times

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required for the Service Manager

- Proven experience as a Service Manager in the HGV Sector

- It would be highly beneficial to come from a tools background

- Track record of profitability, performance growth, and customer satisfaction

- Strong leadership and people management skills

- Ability to motivate and inspire teams to exceed targets

- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify business growth opportunities

- Capable of working under pressure while maintaining high standards
