Job Title: Shift Lead (Electrically Biased)

Location: Watford

Salary: £51,000 – £55,000 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift – 4 days on, 6 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off, 6 days on (3 days/3 nights). Minimum of 2 weekends off per month.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and electrically biased Shift Lead to join our team at the CapitaLand Data Centre in Watford. This is a hands-on, client-facing role suited to a professional with strong technical capabilities and a solid background in critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee daily operations within the data centre environment

- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems

- Ensure the site remains compliant with all relevant health and safety standards

- Respond to and resolve technical issues and emergency situations

- Supervise and support on-site engineers and contractors

- Participate in and support HV switching operations (training available if not already qualified)

- Support the Account Manager with reporting and technical documentation

Requirements:

- Essential:

- Proven experience in a data centre or other critical environment

- Electrically biased with relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

- Strong knowledge of building services and systems (UPS, HVAC, fire suppression, generators)

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure

- Desirable:

- High Voltage (HV) qualification (preferred but not essential – training will be provided post-probation)

- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
