Quantum Scholars are currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in Southampton in their search for a qualified and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join their team from January 2026. The school is a mixed comprehensive secondary school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, with a strong focus on student progress, staff development, and high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and well-structured Sociology lessons to students across KS3 and KS4

*

Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with the national curriculum

*

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported

*

Develop students' critical thinking, debate, and analytical skills

*

Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success

*

Participate in school life, including pastoral support and extra-curricular activities

Requirements:

A degree in Sociology or a related subject

*

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification

*

A strong passion for Sociology and a desire to inspire and engage learners

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

Prior experience teaching Sociology across KS3 and KS4 is essential
