Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and proactive Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by empowering pupils to develop communication, independence, and access to learning in school.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of pupils with complex communication needs, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Delivering communication and functional language assessments and interventions

* Managing a diverse caseload of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties

* Producing detailed clinical reports for EHCPs and Annual Reviews

* Embedding therapeutic strategies into the curriculum alongside teachers and support staff

* Providing training and workshops for school staff on specialist communication approaches

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

* Experienced in working within a school or similar setting

* Passionate about supporting children with autism and complex needs

* Empathetic, adaptable, and creative in their approach

* A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals

Essential Requirements

* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy

* Registration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT

* Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or severe learning difficulties

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Experience contributing to EHCPs or multidisciplinary reviews
