Sustainability Consultant - Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

London (Hybrid)

£45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

Overview:

A leading sustainability consultancy is looking to appoint a skilled and motivated Sustainability Consultant with strong expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to join their London team. This is a key role for a sustainability professional who is passionate about data-driven environmental analysis and is eager to shape the future of low-carbon, circular design.

This position places LCA at the core of your work, giving you the opportunity to lead and influence sustainable design decisions on landmark projects across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and deliver Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects using tools such as OneClick LCA.

* Provide expert advice on embodied carbon, whole life carbon strategies, and circular economy approaches, ensuring integration at the earliest design stages.

* Produce high-quality technical outputs, including LCA reports, carbon reduction strategies, and sustainability statements.

* Engage with architects, engineers, developers, and contractors to embed environmental performance within design teams.

* Develop and refine in-house LCA methodologies, templates, and benchmarking tools.

* Support the delivery of related sustainability services such as BREEAM, WELL, and carbon footprinting, where required.

* Stay up to date with relevant carbon reduction frameworks (e.g. LETI, RIBA 2030, GLA requirements) and apply them to project work.

Requirements:

* Degree in sustainability, environmental science, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.

* Proven experience in delivering LCAs for buildings or infrastructure projects, ideally in a consultancy environment.

* Proficiency in OneClick LCA or similar recognised software.

* In-depth understanding of embodied and whole life carbon principles, metrics, and reporting requirements.

* Knowledge of UK carbon policy and standards, including LETI, RIBA 2030, and GLA guidance.

* Experience with BREEAM, WELL, or LEED is beneficial, but LCA expertise is the priority.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

Benefits:

* Hybrid working model (typically 2-3 days in the London office, with flexible remote options)

* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to buy/sell additional days

* Private healthcare, mental health support, and employee assistance programme

* Generous pension scheme with enhanced employer contributions

* Annual performance bonus and structured salary review

* CPD support, including chartership (IEMA, CIBSE, RICS) and software training

* Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan options

* Regular team socials, networking opportunities, and knowledge-sharing events

* Opportunity to work on high-profile, sustainability-led projects in the UK and globally
