Teaching Assistant - High Wycombe | Pupil Referral Unit
Are you a resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? A specialist Pupil Referral Unit in High Wycombe is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners with social, emotional and mental health SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a youth work/support role, care or residential background
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
* A calm, resilient and adaptable approach to working with learners who may be disengaged from mainstream education
* Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours in High Wycombe
The Role:
* Full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant position with the opportunity to go permanent
* Competitive daily rate of £100-£115
* Supporting learners in small groups and on a 1:1 basis within the Pupil Referral Unit
* Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons across the curriculum, including GCSE and Functional Skills
* Helping pupils in High Wycombe re-engage with education through consistent structure, encouragement and behaviour management strategies
