Team Leader

Location: Tyringham, Newport Pagnell, MK16 9ES

Salary: £14 per hour

Hours: Full time

Our client is a family run care home set in 5 acres of beautiful countryside. They support 35 elderly residents with varying needs, and they aim to provide a 'home from home' environment where residents are supported and cared for by a dedicated and consistent team.

They are looking for an experienced team leader who is passionate about enhancing the lives of their residents.

The Role

* Support the senior in the daily running of the home, stepping into the shoes of the senior when necessary.

* Assist in leading a team of staff to ensure high standards of care practice are maintained and act as a role model in a team.

* Liaise with outside professionals in relation to the changing needs of the residents.

* Take responsibility for the organisation and support during specific shifts.

* Be responsible for administering rounds of medication on specific shifts.

* Review and update care plans and risk assessments when needed to support the senior.

* Demonstrate person centred care in practice.

* Work with care staff and residents to deliver high quality personal care

* Assist residents with food and fluid during mealtimes.

* Have a good knowledge of mental capacity assessments and deprivation of liberty safeguards.

Skills and Qualifications

* A minimum NVQ or diploma L2 (L3 preferred) in health and social care.

* Full UK Driving License

* Proven experience in a team leader role.

* IT literate with a good knowledge and understanding of record keeping.

* A friendly and approachable personality.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* A good understanding and ability of how to interact with residents living with dementia.

* Flexibility to work on a rota basis between the hours of 7am and 9pm. (7-2 or 2-9 shifts- must work a variety).

* Must be able to work alternate weekends.
