Job Title: Town Planner or Senior Town Planner

Location: Preston

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and respected planning consultancy in Preston as they look to grow their successful team with the appointment of a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner. This consultancy has a strong presence across the North West and is involved in a wide range of exciting projects, from large-scale residential developments to commercial, rural, and mixed-use schemes.

Overview

You'll work alongside a collaborative team of planning professionals, delivering high-quality planning advice and managing projects through all stages of the planning process. You'll liaise with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders to help shape and deliver successful outcomes for a variety of planning applications and appeals.

Responsibilities

* Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications and appeals

* Providing strategic planning advice to clients across multiple sectors

* Supporting site appraisals, planning statements, and Local Plan representations

* Managing client relationships and helping drive business development (Senior level)

* Mentoring junior team members where appropriate

Qualifications

* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline

* MRTPI or working towards chartered status

* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* A proactive and commercially minded attitude

Day-to-Day

You will be involved in preparing and managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, and supporting site appraisals and planning statements. At the senior level, you will also be responsible for managing client relationships, driving business development, and mentoring junior team members.
