Job Title: Planner / Senior Planner (2-6 Years' Experience)

Location: Southbank, London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly successful independent planning consultancy in their search for a talented Planner or Senior Planner to join their growing London team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious planning professional with 2-6 years' experience to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and supportive consultancy environment.

You will join a collaborative team delivering commercially focused and strategic planning advice across a diverse range of projects nationwide, working closely with experienced colleagues and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing and submitting planning applications

* Conducting site appraisals and planning assessments

* Liaising with clients, local planning authorities, and consultant teams

* Coordinating planning projects to ensure timely delivery

* Contributing to planning strategies and development solutions

* Monitoring and interpreting planning legislation and policy updates

* Supporting planning appeals where required

About You

* 2-6 years' experience in town planning, ideally within a consultancy environment

* Strong experience preparing and submitting planning applications

* Experience undertaking site appraisals and contributing to planning strategies

* MRTPI Chartered or working towards chartership

* Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

* High attention to detail and problem-solving ability

* Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline (RTPI-accredited preferred)

* Experience working on commercial and retail projects is highly desirable
