Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well respected consultancy, in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing team in Preston.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and forward-thinking consultancy working across a varied portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful Town Planner will play a key role in supporting clients through the planning process while contributing to the delivery of high-quality planning solutions.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will work closely with senior members of the team to deliver a wide range of planning projects, from initial feasibility through to submission and determination.

You will act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical planning advice while supporting the preparation and management of planning applications across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and supporting a range of planning applications and appeals

Undertaking site appraisals and planning feasibility assessments

Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation

Providing planning advice to clients across a variety of projects

Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders

Supporting senior team members in project delivery

Attending site visits and client meetings where required

Candidate Requirements

RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment

Good understanding of UK planning policy and legislation

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

A proactive and team-oriented approach
