Town Planner
Location: Brentwood
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a successful and growing planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team based in Brentwood.
Our client is an established, design-led planning and development practice working on a wide range of exciting residential and mixed-use schemes across the South East. They work with a diverse client base including developers, landowners, architects and investors, providing high-quality advice and securing successful outcomes through the planning system.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Town Planner with around 1-3 years of experience (either in the private or public sector) looking to take the next step in their career. You'll work closely with senior team members on a range of planning applications, site appraisals, and appeals, while also supporting on strategic planning and client engagement.
What You'll Be Doing:

Supporting on the preparation and submission of planning applications
*
Assisting with planning statements, design and access statements, and site assessments
*
Conducting policy research and contributing to pre-application advice
*
Working closely with clients, consultants and local authorities
*
Attending site visits and public consultations
*
Representing the business at meetings and networking events
What We're Looking For:
*
A degree (and ideally a master's) in Town Planning or related field
*
Working towards or recently achieved MRTPI status
*
A sound understanding of the UK planning system
*
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
*
A proactive and detail-oriented mindset
