Job Title: Town Planner

Location: Soho, London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly respected and employee-owned planning consultancy in their search for a talented Town Planner to join their growing team in Central London.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and commercially aware Planner to take the next step in their career. You will join a dynamic and tight-knit team of planning professionals based in a vibrant Soho office, working on large-scale developments and city-shaping projects.

As a Planner, you will play a central role in delivering projects across all stages of the planning process-from site promotion to appeals. You'll be engaging directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, attending project meetings, preparing planning applications and documents, and contributing to the strategic direction of your work.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications

* Provide strategic and technical support on a wide range of planning matters

* Conduct research and draft key documents including planning statements and reports

* Attend client and project team meetings and represent the consultancy at public events

* Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders

* Assist with fee proposals, tender documents, and project management

* Support junior team members and collaborate closely with senior colleagues

Requirements

* RTPI accredited degree or equivalent

* Working towards or already MRTPI qualified

* Experience preparing and submitting planning applications

* Knowledge of the London planning system

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Sound understanding of UK planning policy and legislation

* Proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
